Tokenized Assets Poised to Surpass DeFi as Chronicle Partners with Grove Protocol
Chronicle, a leading oracle infrastructure provider, has been named the exclusive partner for Grove Protocol, an institutional-grade credit platform with a $1 billion tokenized asset strategy. This collaboration aims to bridge decentralized finance (DeFi) and traditional credit markets by offering diversified, institutional-grade yields.
Niklas Kunkel, founder of Chronicle, highlighted the evolution of oracles beyond simple price feeds. "Oracles began as general data distribution mechanisms but became narrowly associated with price feeds," Kunkel told CoinDesk. "Now, the industry is finally moving beyond that limited perception."
The Grove Protocol, part of the Sky ecosystem, launched in June with a focus on tokenized collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), such as the Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO Strategy on Centrifuge. This initiative underscores the growing institutional interest in tokenized assets, which Kunkel believes will eventually eclipse DeFi in prominence.
